Come and give it a go, play sports, learn new skills, explore faith and have fun.

In the Forest of Dean, we partner with the Christian Adventure Centre Viney Hill to deliver an incredible programme of adventure activities. Activities take place at the Viney Hill Centre and at other locations across the Forest.

In the Forest of Dean you'll meet Rachel:

"I officially joined the team in October 2024, having worked informally with Sportily in the Forest of Dean since 2021 whilst being Priest-in-Charge (aka ‘the vicar’) of Newnham with Awre and Blakeney. I’d never call myself ‘sporty’, but I am active; I love going for a long walk in the Forest or by the sea. I want to enable others to get active, make new friends, have fun and discover more of what it means to feel alive physically, emotionally and spiritually."

You'll also meet Lucy:

"In February 2024, I joined Sportily as a sport and Faith Coach across the benefice of Newnham, Blakeney and Awre. I love the variety of the role and the interaction with a wide range of people. For me, a typical week could involve leading a Wellbeing Champions or Sports Leader session in school, running an afterschool club, facilitating an adult netball or 0-5k group and being part of 'All Age Worship' in the benefice. In the school holidays, I love getting involved in pop-up sports, whatever the weather is!"

Simon:

"I joined Sportily in April 2025 as the full-time Sports and Faith Coach in the Forest of Dean. I work with primary schools, doing Wellbeing Champions, football clubs, assemblies, and at Drybrook Youth Club, as well as leading Pop-Up Sports across the Forest during the school holidays."
